The prestigious art fair devoted to works on paper has decided to go ahead with its fifth edition, transforming it this year into a virtual exhibition.
WOPART, one of the world’s leading art fairs devoted to works on paper, has turned the crisis into a challenge (as per the famous A. Einstein quote cited on the exhibition’s website), a challenge that has uncovered new opportunities. WOPART’s fifth edition is entirely digital, reaching an even broader audience, one that will be logging in from the four corners of the world to admire and buy the artworks on show.
Eberhard & Co. and its partner, the Mersmann watch boutique from Lugano (Switzerland), a benchmark for jewellery enthusiasts for nearly a century, are present as always with a space of their own, where art and watchmaking combine in an effort to portray the fleeting advance of time. This year, their virtual lounge hostes an exceptional guest, artist Letizia Cariello, who has accepted to showcase a selection of her work to enhance the Eberhard & Co.-Mersmann space. The Cariello artworks selected for the occasion are not for sale and are part of the ‘Calendars’ collection. They represent the artist’s own interpretation of time, as described in this text by Cariello herself:
“Time is represented by the initial of the days of the week in Italian, followed by a number, in other words the date. Intervals consisting of points and graphic signs lend rhythm to the reading, inspired by ancient attempts at perceiving an eternal flux in the circular cycle of days…”
Unique representations of watches from the Eberhard & Co. collections alternate with Cariello’s artworks, creating an exclusive, innovative space together, for an appointment with time that is not to be missed.
