PERUGINA CUP

Eberhard & Co. has supported as Main Sponsor and Official Timekeeper the 34th edition of the historical re-enactment of the Perugina Cup, scheduled from 11 to 14 May. The event was born from the desire to revive the first circuit speed race, held in Umbria from 1924 to 1927, designed and wanted by Giovanni Buitoni, founder of the confectionery company “La Perugina”. A commemorative event, reserved for historical cars produced until 1965, of which twenty with open bodywork, produced until 1930.

The event began Thursday, May 11 with the entry of participants at the Autodromo dell’Umbria in Magione, to play laps on the track with skill tests. Saturday saw the departure for Sansepolcro, a visit to the city and transfer to Perugia where, in Corso Vannucci, took place the traditional parade of cars with crews in vintage clothing, motorcycles and ancient bicycles. Sunday was dedicated to the re-enactment of the historic circuit of the Perugina Cup. Umbria, the green heart of Italy, between medieval villages and flowered landscapes was a suggestive set for the race. Four days dedicated to nature, culture and food and wine, elements that have made this region one of the most popular destinations for national tourism and this race a must for fans of historic cars.
